What I learned about God from my 2 year old

When we stop and pay attention to God, He will show us how we can develop a relationship with Him. We have to be open to the idea that it may come from a place or person that we are not expecting. The goal should always be to hear the voice of God, not to be too concerned with the package that it comes to us. It is with this mindset and heart that God spoke to me through my son.

Any parent or if you’re around children long enough you’ve probably had this happen to you: It’s time to eat or you’ve gotten yourself a snack. You even made sure to have something for the child. So you sit down to eat and as you take you’re first bite you hear that little voice say “some?” And as you look at the snack that you set out for them still siting there on the table, you realize that they only want it because it’s something that you’re eating.
How many times have we approached God the same way?
I don’t think that we purposefully leave God out of the things in our lives, but as we are going along our days it somehow just happens.
If we can keep God in the forefront of our minds then we would start to develop a true parent-child relationship. A relationship where we can want things simply because He has them.
So as we’re going about our days, weeks, lives we have to remind ourselves of who God is our lives. Remind ourselves of the place that He holds in our lives. We can have health the way God has it, we can have faith as God says we should. There are number of things that God has designed for us to have and it’s ok to have them.
So are we going to continue to leave God out of our lives or will want the lives that He has in His heart for us?
