On Netflix’s is the show Young Justice. A very general overview is that the side kicks of the superhero’s get their time to step into the spotlight and out of their mentors shadows. Some of the characters are Robin, Kid Flash, Speedy, and Super-boy, just to give some examples.
Why even bring this up, or write about this: 2 reasons.
- The sidekick is supposed to be someone that is a mentee: the person we train to follow after us
- The sidekick is the superhero helper. The one they count on when there is no one else around
Who is our helper? It should be the Holy Spirit. I say should because there are many times when it’s not. Our helpers tend to be people that only qualify in terms of how long they’ve known us, not how much they have actually helped.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The only one that is qualified beyond just our present situation, one that knows all, and wants to see good come into our lives is the Holy Spirit.
We are each in need this type of helper. We question if he is there or not, does he hear us? But what we should question is whether or not we are listening.
Where would Batman be if never listened to Alfred? Probably would have taken a lot more unnecessary beatings.
Let’s not take unnecessary beatings from life or from the devil because we would not listen to our helper.
