Each week I like to post two articles. Monday’s tend to be more inspirational/spiritual while Thursday’s lean more towards marriages and relationships. For the next couple of weeks on Monday’s I want to begin with us talking about some of the tenets or foundation beliefs of the Christian Faith.
The Need to Help People
I’ll start by just giving some background on why I’m starting this type of series. One of the main purposes in why I started this blog was to be able to help people. I look around our culture, our churches, the society we all live in and I see something that is bothersome to me. There are many different specialized groups or cultural groups that stand for what they believe in. For example the NRA, to supporters of LGBTQ, to PETA supporters, and Black Lives Matter supporters, all believe in and stand for their groups.
Stand & Support
What I don’t see are the Christians that will stand and support their own cause. Instead there are too many instances where churches and Christians are being told how to worship, how to live their faith, and how to conduct their businesses by people who do not share the same view as them.
Become Confident and Bold
My heart is for this series of posts to help us in becoming confident in what we believe. To encourage Christians to stand in the face of the situations and people just as boldly as other groups. We must take a bold yet loving approach to stand for what we believe in.
Faith: The Beginning
To start this series, I think that we should begin with faith. What is faith and how do we get it? Is it important and how do I use it? These and more questions will be answered in the upcoming posts.
What is Faith?
So, what is Faith? I’m a definition type of guy. I like definitions for the simple purpose of trying to understand what a particular word means and the context on how I can use it. The dictionary definition of faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
This is a good starting point for us. Faith is complete trust or confidence in God. How would you define faith? What does that word mean to you?
